MoE Round 1 - Kyoto GP Long

05-12-2010 - Round 1 of the Masters of Endurance series saw Inferno GT2 - with two of F1RST Racing's drivers on the squad- take the 12hr victory!

Marius (bash0r) did the qualifying for the Team inferno GT2, but only managing to put us onto 5th place for the start. The XR2 looked like the lower car for qualifying.

The start was great, Marius getting into 4th place before T1, and then Isaac for SR made a move on the inside on Tommy for Inex, but tommy turns in, causing them both to spin. Marius just squeezed past and got into P2. After lap 1, Marius had made a move on Raptor racing and got us into the lead.
We made some calculations on the amount of time per stint needed over the FZR's to be on the for the win, and it was 6 seconds per stint. After Marius double stint he had made a huge gap of around 30seconds. Then it came to Joe Holmes, his MoE debute, and he started off well, good times at the start but wasnt quite as fast as Marius at the end of stint but still adding another 10+seconds to the gap of second place. Just over the half way mark, and we was nearly lapping the podium places. It was Patrick Kubinji who did the final 3 hours of the race, making it look like a 'sunday drive' as the commentators said. Patrick then lapped 2nd place, to make it a great result for us. The final few laps of his stint were more like hot lapping as he was trying to beat Marius's time. In the end we won the race, great pace and consistency throughout.

Well done guys!
